Scheduling

Many people use the Warrenton soccer fields, especially in the fall. Use of these fields for games are scheduled. The MASTER SCHEDULE (subject to change) is posted by the concession stand on the bulletin board.  In general, games get priority over practices. If you wish to practice at the Warrenton fields when no games are scheduled, you may do so. LCYSA asks that you pay close attention to the following rules when using the facilities.

Rules For Use Of LCYSA Fields:

  1. Always share space. Practices are not scheduled. There is no reason that 3 or more teams can't practice at the same time on one field.
  2. Practice only on the upper field when possible. The lower field is to be used only for games. This helps us maintain the lower field for Winter use.
  3. Stay out of goal mouths as much as possible. Suggestions: do not practice in the 18 yard boxes. Run scrimmages across field. Shooting drills are best done with the goal off the playing surface of the field; never do shooting drills in the normal goal mouths. Everyone must make an effort to protect goal mouths from unnecessary wear and tear.
  4. Goals must be anchored by use of the sand bags at all times. Our goals are light weight, making them easily moveable. This benefit means some special safety concerns need your attention. Always supervise the movement of goals. Use enough players to help you carry the goals, do not drag the goals. Never allow players to climb on posts and netting, and never allow anyone to dangle from the crossbar. These portable goals easily tip over and can be blown over in winds of 30 to 40 MPH. Unless anchored, these goals can maim or cause death to the unsuspecting.
  5. Move goals off the fields after every practice and game, and anchor them. Goals are best stored on their face; this gives them the most stability in our windy Winter conditions. Please play it safe and teach our players good habits.
  6. A phone is available in the concession stand for emergencies.
  7. Whatever equipment you use, put it back. The cones, flags, Pugg goals, trash cans are for your use. Please keep the shed door closed during your practices and games so that children do not play inside.
  8. Pick up all trash after your game or practice. If the visiting team leaves a mess, pick it up. There is a trash bin South of the concession stand.
  9. If you discover anything wrong at the field please call Jerry at 861-3204 home, or 861-2201 at work. This should certainly include broken water lines, sprinklers starting during your game, or vandalism.
